The Junction Lady Eagle varsity golf team took first place in the District 27-2A golf tournament and qualified for the Region 4-2A golf tournament in Corpus Christi.
Senior McAdams shot a two-day total of 215 to claim the gold medal; junior Kemry Schoppe finished in a fourth-place tie with a two-day total of 231. These two Lady Eagles led the girls team to a gold medal team total of 924 and a berth in the regional tournament.
Other members of the varsity girls team include junior Katherine Hoffman, who shot a two-day total of 233, sophomore Dylan Tapia scored 248 and Kylie Burney finished with a 262.
Freshmen Risa Cantu and Isa Esquivel competed individually at the tournament and scored 268 and 271, respectively.
At the boys district tournament, the Eagles varsity team finished as an alternate for the regional tournament with a bronze medal team total of 831.
Junior Will Chapman tallied a two-day total of 205, while senior Jaden Hardesty scored 207, sophomore Will Castleberry carded a 211, senior Dax Simon shot a 217, and sophomore Tyler Hill finished with a 220.
Competing as an individual, sophomore Chance Condarco shot a 235 over the two-day tournament.
The District 27-2A golf tournament was held over two days with round one on March 20 at the Scott Schreiner Golf Course in Kerrville, with round two played on March 28 at the Buckhorn Golf Course in Comfort.
The Region 4-2A golf tournament will be held on April 24 and 25 in Corpus Christi. Girls will compete at the Oso Beach Municipal Golf Tournament, while the boys will play at the Lozano Golf Center.
The first, second and third place teams and first three medalist not on an advancing team at the regional tournament will qualify for the state tournament.
