Sheriff’s Report December 15-29

Sheriff Hilario Cantu and staff are privileged to bring you this weekly report of happenings in Kimble County.

The information is taken from call slips, which do not always contain the outcome of the call.

Kimble County dispatch received approximately 487 telephone calls and 536 audio transmissions during the week of December 15 through December 21.

12/15-1. Deputy S. Brown and DPS Trooper Morris responded to the 4300 block of US 377 North for a report of trespassers. 

2. Deputy Stewart responded to the intersection of North 10th and North Llano for a subject who fell off his bicycle; one subject was transported to Kimble Hospital ER.

3. Deputy S. Brown responded to the 500 block of Rolling Oaks Drive for a report of a person recklessly discharging a firearm in the direction of a residence. 

4. Deputy T. Brown responded to the 24000 block of Ranch Road 385 for a subject who fell and lost consciousness; EMS did not transport on this call. 

12/16-1. Deputy S. Brown responded to US 377 North and KC 311 intersection for a minor motor vehicle accident with no injuries. 

12/17-1. Deputy S. Brown, Deputy Noah and DPS Trooper Gardner responded to IH-10 466 mile marker for a commercial motor vehicle accident with no injuries reported. 

2. Deputy T. Brown, DPS Trooper Meadow and Junction VFD responded to US 377 North, three miles South of London, for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment; one subject was transported to Kimble Hospital ER.

12/18-1. Deputy K. Brown responded to US 377 North for a report of a reckless driver.

2. Sheriff Cantu and Deputy Stewart responded to the 300 block of Sissel Road for a welfare check. 

12/19-1. Deputy Stewart responded to IH-10 for a report of a reckless driver.

3. Deputy Stewart responded to IH-10 470 mile marker area for a domestic dispute.

12/20-1. Deputy Stewart, DPS Trooper Dutchover and Junction VFD responded to IH-10 464 mile marker for a commercial motor vehicle accident with injuries; one subject was transported to Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville. 

2. DPS Trooper Morris responded to IH-10 469 mile marker for a report of debris in the roadway.

3. Deputy Millican, Deputy Stewart and DPS Trooper Morris responded to the 5000 block of US 290 for a report of trespassers. 

12/21-1. Deputy Stewart, DPS Trooper Morris and Officer Ward responded to the 1900 block of Main for a domestic dispute. 

2. Deputy K. Brown responded to the 200 block of KC 3122 for a subject who fell and needed help getting up off the ground. 

Kimble County Sheriff’s Office and Jail Administrator Jack Noah processed six persons through the jail on the following charges:

12/17-1. Officer Pena III arrested James Armstrong, 35, of Junction for violation of protective order.

12/19-1. DPS Trooper Meadow arrested Blossom Owens, 56, of San Angelo for driving while intoxicated 2nd or more. 

12/19-1. Officer Ward arrested Les Rhodes, 22, of Salt Lake City, Utah, for possession of a controlled substance.

2. Officer Ward arrested Jaylon Mascorro, 20, of Refugio for possession of a controlled substance.

12/21-1. Officer Ward arrested Angelina Gauna, 31, of Junction for public intoxication. 

2. DPS Trooper Morris arrested Jonuel Hernandez, 21, of New Orleans, Louisiana, for possession of a controlled substance and a Jefferson Parish warrant for possession of dangerous drugs. 

Kimble County dispatch received approximately 543 telephone calls and 553 audio transmissions during the week of December 22  through December 28.

12/22-1. Deputy Stewart and DPS Trooper Dutchover responded to IH-10 464 mile marker for a motor vehicle accident; one subject was transported to Kimble Hospital ER.

2. Deputy S. Brown and Junction VFD responded to IH-10 465 mile marker for a motor vehicle fire.

12/23-1. Deputy S. Brown and DPS Trooper Dutchover responded to US 83 North for a report of a domestic dispute in progress 3-4 miles north of Junction. 

2. Deputy Brown and DPS Trooper Dutchover responded to the 400 block of White Rock Road for a report of trespassing.

3. Deputy T. Brown responded to IH-10 in an attempt to locate a vehicle that came off tow during transport. Deputy T. Brown found the vehicle at mile marker 471.

4. Deputy S. Brown responded to the 500 block of Rolling Oaks Drive for a report of reckless discharging of a firearm. 

5. Deputy T. Brown responded to IH-10 for a report of a black SUV pulling a trailer with no visible lights.

12/24-1. Deputy S. Brown responded to Ranch Road 1221 for a report of heavy smoke in the area; call was unfounded.

2. Deputy S. Brown and DPS Trooper Morris responded to US 83 North for a report of a possible intoxicated motorist; subject was later found and arrested for driving while intoxicated. 

3. Deputy T. Brown and Junction VFD responded to IH-10 473 mile marker for a report of a vehicle fire. 

4. Deputy S. Brown and Game Warden Biggs responded to White Rock Road for a trespassing dispute.

5. Deputy T. Brown and DPS Trooper Gardner responded to Livingston Lane for a subject with a possible heart attack; subject was transported to Kimble Hospital ER.

12/25-1. Deputy T. Brown and DPS Trooper Meadow responded to US 377 South approximately one mile south of Telegraph for a report of a motor vehicle accident with no injuries reported. 

2. Deputy K. Brown responded to IH-10 near Roosevelt exit for a report of a motor vehicle accident; all occupants left the scene before Deputy T. Brown’s arrival. 

3. Deputy K. Brown, Deputy Noah and Officer Pena III responded to the 200 block of Chestnut for a disturbance.

4. Deputy Stewart and DPS Trooper Gardner responded to IH-10 442 mile marker for a motor vehicle accident with no injuries reported.

12/26-No calls

12/27-1. DPS Trooper Morris responded to IH-10 459 mile marker for a motorist assist.

2. Deputy Stewart responded to IH-10 464 mile marker for a minor motor vehicle accident with no injuries reported. 

12/28-1. DPS Trooper Gardner responded to US 377 North for livestock in the roadway.

Kimble County Sheriff’s Office and Jail Administrator Jack Noah processed five persons through the jail on the following charges:

12/22-1. Officer Pena III arrested Austin Johnson, 24, of Place Monument, Colorado, for an Ellis County warrant for failure to appear and a warrant for evading arrest or detention. 

12/23-1. Officer Pena III arrested Vanessa Kindle, 23, of Junction for a warrant out of Colorado for identity theft. 

12/24-1. DPS Trooper Morris arrested Larry Hoover, 70, of San Antonio for driving while intoxicated.

12/25-1. Officer Pena Jr. arrested Jordan Davis, 33, of Junction for aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury family violence. 

2. Officer Pena III arrested John Wallace, 52, of Junction for disorderly conduct.
