JHS and the Class of 2019 cordially invite everyone to join them on Friday, August 31, at 6:00 p.m. at Eagle Stadium for the dedication of the Eagle Memorial. This dedication of the Eagle Memorial is in honor of Alexis R. Cardwell (Sticks), a member of the Class of 2019.
Alexis was 16 years old, a sophomore at JHS, when she traded her Junction Eagle wings for Angel wings. She was active in volleyball, basketball, cheerleading and cross country, but her true passion was track. She was truly amazing to watch run. Alexis was also an avid member of Kimble County 4-H and Junction FFA.
Alexis was a true Christian. Her strong faith and kindness were the most precious gifts she was granted. She was active in her church and a role model for the younger children. She was a stranger to none and a friend to all. Her favorite verse was Matthew 17:20: “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say this to a mountain, ‘Move from here to there’, and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
The Eagle Memorial was designed by Neil Payne as part of his Eagle Scout service project. The purpose of the Payne project is for plaques, which have been purchased and dedicated to the memory of a JISD student, to be mounted on this memorial stone.
